Dear Winelovers,

We hope this message finds you and your loved ones well and healthy.

We need to navigate these difficult times together and support each other. The best way to contain the virus is to stay home.

These measures have affected many businesses and the food and beverage industry is one that has taken a huge hit. How can you help?

  • Order take out/delivery: Support your favorite restaurants and ask them to include a bottle of wine. Most restaurants are now also offering their wine selection as part of their on-line/delivery menu.
  • Buy wine on line: Quarantine doesn’t have to be boring, make sure your cellar is just as stocked as your fridge. Organize “on-line” happy hours with your family and friends via WhatsApp, Zoom, etc. It will help you relax and get you through lock down!

ALPASIÓN LODGE

Last week Argentina announced a mandatory quarantine. The measure, which restricts people to their homes, is expected to last until at least March 31. Alpasion Lodge is temporarily closed until April 15, 2020. Our main priority is to keep our guests and employees safe. We look forward to updating you when we reopen.

In the meantime, we do have some exciting news to share with you. Last month we finished the construction of our glamping site. The first in the area, it consists of 3 luxury tents with a private deck and a hot tub. The Lodge & Restaurant are just a few meters away.

HARVEST 2020

We are in the middle of the harvest season, fortunately the decree excludes certain activities such as production, logistics and delivery of food and drinks. At Alpasion, everything is done by hand. We expect to continue harvesting but with a limited number of workers as many have either left the country (seasonal workers that come just for the harvest season) or decided to stay home.

This harvest has been a bit different, short, because most of the grapes varietals have matured very close to each other. It’s been weeks of intense/hard work. Karim Mussi (consulting wine maker), Ezequiel Manoni (resident wine maker) and Mauricio Cummaudo (general manager) have been working non stop to get the fruit into the winery in time. They expect to be done by the end of the month.

The quality of the fruit and juice has been exceptional!

We look forward to sharing exciting news about our new wines, once our lives are back to normal.

Please stay safe, drink wine, keep calm and carry on!
